Christmas 2014 Spent In Laiya, Batangas Beach
This Christmas day of 2014, hubby’s family decided to spend the holiday in one of Batangas famous beaches. A month ago, father-in-law decided to have a Christmas staycation in one of the 5-star hotels in the Makati area. At first, everyone agreed to that idea and hubby was the person-in-charge in booking a suite for all of us. Then, while hubby was trying to book our stay, he realized why not stay in a beach resort instead? This idea was first contradicted by the two sisters, and silently by me as well.
When you stay in a beach, it will an all-stay water related activities, meaning you’ll have a very busy day and an early-going-to-bed night time. When you stay in a hotel, it will be just a quiet bonding time, more stories to tell and just listen to anyone talking, and of course play some board games. For me, a quiet bonding time with family should a Christmas be spent. But then again, a beach stay was finally agreed to be booked in the end. Anyway, it’s all cool since everyone is coming, except for my 2 sisters-in-law’s boyfriends, father-in-law had instructed that it should be a family trip only.
The beach stay was reserved at Sigayan Bay Beach in Laiya, Batangas last Dec. 25-26, and I think this is the first time that my in-laws are not celebrating Christmas with the Cristoria Clan. Hubby assigned himself as the driver to our destination and it was his first time for a long drive, a four-hour long drive I might add. We were just in the nick of time on our timed check-in in the resort, 2:00pm.
Though it was a long drive, it was a fun one because we always took pictures and even shoot video when we arrived in Laiya, Batangas but still miles away from the beach resort. We thought that we are already there. Haha.
I like the sight of the sand not being dark but rumors has it that Laiya, Batangas sand has darker hues and lighter color sand was just added on top of it. Imported from Boracay as they say. Well, I don’t know if it is a fact.
Just like my daughter, Little Zoie, when she first visited a beach in Batangas, Matti, the little boy, was afraid, or should I say not comfortable walking on the sand. He was crying and crying especially if I am not around him. He’s doing actions of brushing the sand of his feet and body
When you’re in a beach you have to try water activities or else you’ll be stuck playing on the sand or play on the shallow part of the ocean. I’ll be like that, stuck, but thanks to my very adventurous family I finally got to try boat ride (done before though) and snorkeling, on day 1, and banana boat ride, on day 2. They wanted me to ride flying fish with them, on day 2, but I needed to put Matti to sleep. He got tied tagging along our water adventures, riding the speed boat which pulled our banana boat and flying fish.

It was just an overnight stay but the totality of our stay is really fun. Also, I would like to give 4.5 stars to Sigayan Beach Resort. Staff are very accommodating, courteous and very helpful. The whole resort is very clean and they really keep it tidy all the times. Water sports are excellent, we really had fun. They simply lack towels which they can offer for a fee. Also, a shout out to Kuya Jayson, who knows his job very well. He was very accommodating and made sure that our water adventures are prepared. Over all, I would like you, dear readers, to try Sigayan Bay Beach Resort if you’re looking for a resort to go to in Laiya, Batangas.

Getting ready for our banana boat ride…
It was really a fun and pleasant stay despite the gloomy weather. We will be coming back to Sigayan Bay next time!
