Since my Little Zoie is starting her first school year, bringing a snack is one of her essentials.  I am not a fan of junk foods, so as much as possible I will not buy her such unhealthy foods.

When I was a kid, I rarely have junk foods as one of my school snacks that’s why I’m not very fond of it.  Even until now, I seldom buy them.  ^_^

So far I have bought her Monde’s Bingo Double Choco Cookie Sandwich, Lemon Square’s Cheese Cake, Lemon Square’s ChooChoo Cake Pies, Jack N’ Jill’s Pretzels, Knick Knacks and Ram’s California Seedless Raisins, and a couple of apples ( I forgot to include it here).

I sure hope these snack foods are not considered as junk foods, well let’s see…

Junk food is an informal term for food that is of little nutritional value and often high in fat, sugar, and/or calories.

Junk foods typically contain high levels of calories from sugar or fat with little protein, vitamins or minerals. Common junk foods include salted snack foods, gum, candy, sweet desserts, fried fast food, and carbonated beverages.  – from wikipedia.org

Are these chocolates considered as sweet desserts?

She seem to love fruits, from apples to bananas, from watermelon to pineapples, from coconut to rambutan, from langka to corn, and a lot more.

So when I saw her eating her favorite apple, I took the chance of taking a picture of her munching the apples.  😉  Look!

The little one is busy munching…

Health benefits of Apple from Nutrition-and-You.com:

  • Delicious and crunchy apple is one of the popular fruit that contain an impressive list of essential nutrients, which are required for normal growth and development and overall nutritional well-being.
  • Apples are low in calories; 100 g of fresh fruit slices provide only 50 calories. The fruits are however, contain no saturated fats or cholesterol; but rich in dietary fiber, which helps, prevent absorption of dietary LDL cholesterol in the gut. The dietary fibers also help protect the mucous membrane of the colon from exposure to toxic substances by binding to cancer causing chemicals in the colon.
  • Apple fruit contains good quantities of vitamin-C and beta-carotene. Vitamin C is a powerful natural antioxidant. Consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful, pro-inflammatory free radicals from the body.
  • Apples are rich in antioxidant phyto-nutrients flavonoids and polyphenols. The total measured anti-oxidant strength (ORAC value) of 100 g apple fruit is 5900 TE. The important flavonoids in apples arequercetin, epicatechin, and procyanidin B2. Apples are also good in tartaric acid that gives tart flavor to them. These compounds help body protect from deleterious effects of free radicals.
  • In addition, apple fruit is a good source of B-complex vitamins such as riboflavin, thiamin, and pyridoxine (vitamin B-6). Together these vitamins help as co-factors for enzymes in metabolism as well as in various synthetic functions inside the body.
  • Apple also contains small amount of minerals like potassium, phosphorus, and calcium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure; thus counters the bad influences of sodium.IMG00345-20120628-1834

But there’s one fruit I know she doesn’t like, the fruit that I love… mangoes.  ^_^

My little Zoie loves pizza, just like her dad… and this time she’s not eating Pizza Hut’s Pizza but GREENWICH!

I say their pizzas are not bad at all, and this is the first time she tasted Greenwich pizza and she loved it!  Good thing, I ordered the whole Hawaiian Solo Pizza for her. And she finished it all all by herself! Smiley

I Wish…

at

I have been wanting to start my own business since I gave birth to my little darling.  Before, when I was still single, I wanted to pursue my career but now that I have a little daughter to take care of, my dreams changed.  I wanted to personally take care of her and attend to her needs without getting any nanny.  We tried getting nannies before, but you know how it is… its so hard to trust somebody you really don’t know the welfare of your kid/s.

Now, that I’m earning a little online I wish to start my own business.  I still cannot disclose th nature of business I want to start but I definitely need a printer.  An HP printer with hp printers ink cartridges included in the purchase.

I think you’re guessing what business is this… yes, I need printer so it means I’m printing or something like that. Smiley I’m still not telling.

Now, I just wish that my income would be enough to get me a printer by next month! ;-)
